Nicola Piper is a political sociologist and migration scholars, with some of her latest areas of interest including global and transnational social policy, the Sustainable Development Goals in relation to migration, portable justice and the portability of rights. Her research specifically focuses on migration governance with an approach derived from political organizing by or on behalf of migrants. She is also interested in such areas as discursive framing of rights and migrant workers’ employment and hiring practices. Nicola’s main focus is on the Asia-Pacific region; however some of her fieldwork was conducted in Latin America, Europe, and Oceania.
